Numerous attempts have been made to defraud Internet shoppers by the unauthorized use of the DHL name and brand. These attempts occur via e-mail communications and graphics which appear on the surface, to have originated from DHL.
In most cases, the fraudulent communication concerns the sale of consumer goods over the Internet. Payment may be requested by money transfer for goods in transport, before the goods will be delivered. Please be advised that DHL does not request payment in this manner and we do not offer an online payment service.
We would like to take this opportunity to remind our customers that DHL Express acts as a shipper. As such, immediate payment is required from either the shipper at the time a package is received and ready to ship or from the receiver via cash on delivery (“COD”). We do not hold items until payment confirmation is received or confirmed. Furthermore, we do not hold parcels on behalf of sellers until payment is received. Please keep this in mind while shopping online.
If you receive a request to transfer money for goods which DHL allegedly currently has in transport, or should there be any doubt as to the authenticity of any DHL communication, please immediately report it to DHL by emailing dhlcustomer.service.ca@dhl.com or by calling 1-800-CALL DHL.
This security notice does not affect the obligation of a consignee to pay shipping, customs, VAT or similar charges, where these are properly payable at the time of delivery.
DHL accepts no responsibility or liability for any costs or charges which are improperly incurred as a result of fraudulent activity.
Thank you,
DHL Security Management

Please be advised that if you received an email suggesting that DHL is attempting to deliver a package and asking that you open the email attachment in order to affect delivery, the email is fraudulent, contains a virus, and the package does not exist. Please do not open the attachment. This is due to the Infostealer.Banker.C virus, which has been confirmed to be a real virus attached to a fraudulent email.
This virus is not coming from DHL – the authors of the malicious email virus are only using the DHL name in their message to grab user's attention. We apologize for any inconvenience.

At DHL Express we are committed to providing our customers with the most comprehensive delivery service, which is why we offer express delivery for shipments going to restricted access locations under trade embargo or security risk.
DHL Express has special procedures to operate in embargoed countries and under dangerous conditions, which complicates security inspection and delivery. To continue improving our service levels, we are making further developments to improve the security conditions of our existing network.
Effective November 2, 2009 DHL Express will be introducing a Restricted Access Destination (RAD) surcharge. RAD will apply to express service shipments that are going to restricted access locations under trade embargo or security risks.
A Restricted Access Destination is defined as a location that meets at least one of the following conditions:
- United Nations or U.S. State Department war and conflict list
- Trade Embargo
- Terrorism threat
The surcharge amount is 5% of the freight charges. The RAD surcharge will be applied as a variable rate; one charge per shipment only.

At DHL Express Canada, we know how much our children and family contribute to strengthening our business. As part of our continued effort to raise employee engagement we wanted to show the children and families of our employees our appreciation through our first ever Children’s Art Exhibit Contest!
The theme of the Art Contest was "What does DHL mean to me?" from the perspective of our children and families. The submission period was from June 15, 2010 to July 15, 2010.
Thanks to our children, nieces/nephews and grandchildren who submitted their artwork, the program was a great success. We received over 200 beautiful works of art from all over the country! This is yet another example of how our families support and strengthen our business and we would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge their contribution.
Every child received a thank you prize filled with goodies and a thank you letter for participation. The winners and honorable mentions of each category will be showcased in future marketing materials to be shared with our customers and employees. Their collection of artwork will be exhibited at National Office.
Please join us in congratulating the winners!
